Prayer Pockets

When my grandmother passed away, my Mom found a prayer pocket similar to these in her stuff. It was given to her from a very dear friend. What a great idea to keep near your Bible or in your purse to write down prayer requests, anyone or anything you'd like to pray for. It's truly giving it to God. Write it down and put it in the prayer pocket. I was in a group at church this session called Missional Moms. I decided this could part of our journey in our mission and so I replicated the one I had from my Meemaw and made several for all the women in our group.

Valentine Envelope

I saw something similar to these in a magazine and thought, I can make those! My plan is to use them as a countdown to Valentine's Day and put a note or surprise in them for the girls each day.  I made them to hang on our kitchen chairs.

TRY Change Travel Cases

My mom has really cool glasses and she can interchange the frames.  I made her a travel case (seen in an earlier post) and she took it into the optical shop and the owner has placed several orders from me! Here is a sample of his favorite picks.

Child's Messenger Bag

Again, another creation from my One Yard Wonders book.  I love that book!  My girls just started preschool a couple of weeks ago and I made them these darling little messenger bags.  I had to reduce the strap size by several inches but it turned out so cute and they love them!  I let them pick out the fabric and I added little button embellishments on the flap.

Nursing Cover

One of my friends, who recently had a baby, asked me to make her a nursing cover.  They are surprisingly easy and take little time to make.  I add a little terry cloth in the corners (cut a washcloth in half).  It's great for wiping the baby's mouth when they are nursing. I only took this picture for some reason so this is the only shot I have of it!

"Upcycled" Magazine Rack

When my Grandmother passed away a year ago, I asked if I could have this magazine rack.  Although, when I got it, it was dark brown.  I had great plans for it! I just sanded it a little and painted it lavender (my girls picked it out). I made a little fabric sling for the inside and ta-da! It now holds some of the books in their room.  I absolutely love the way it turned out!

Collegiate Trash Bag

My friend, Lauren, loves OSU! Go Cowboys! She had some leftover fabric from a previous project and asked me to make her a trash bag for her car.  I think it turned out awesome!!  I love my One Yard Wonders book!
