Ruffled Capris

My little girls have tiny little waists and can still wear some size 3s, in the waist only though. They are 4 so the length is too short. They had these great jeans that I just couldn't part with because they were in such good shape. So...a while back I added ruffles to jeans that were too short to lengthen them...but we were headed to OK for my lil' sis's wedding and I needed some capris pronto. I remembered I had these jeans so I went to work! I think they turned out darling! See what you think...

Silhouette Cameo Labels

One of my friends wanted to make some labels for the toy bins in her son's room. He can't read yet but we still wanted to include words so that he could learn them too. It took us about 2 days, the first day was finding all the graphics we wanted to use and the second day we actually were able to cut everything out. All done and they are super cute!! All done on my Silhouette Cameo. If you think you'd like one, check out the website.

Burp Cloths

One of my very close friends just had a new baby boy and I wanted to make her some burp cloths. I decided to try out my Silhouette Cameo and step them up a little than my previous ones. I found some really cute coordinating fabric and got to work. Doing it again, I would use a smaller, closer zig-zag stitch on the car but nevertheless, it's cute! And a change from the solid ones I am used to making. I love these as baby gifts. They are so personal and hand made.

Pillowcases

One of my friends was making pillowcases for birthday gifts. What a fun idea! I had this tutorial on one of my Pinterest boards of ideas to make for my girls. I was skeptical but this was one of the most fun things I have made. Probably because it was easy and the fabric possibilities are endless!! Now I want to make these for everyone! Silly, yes, but oh so cute! I can't figure out how to add my second picture of the other one, but here's one of them. Mermaids...

and Hedgehogs...

Valentine's Cards

Again, an idea from Pinterest (sorry, there wasn't a link to this one) was making very cute and different Valentines. This was the first project I did with my Silhouette. We are going to be great friends. It was so fun to use and pretty easy too! I downloaded the jar graphic, then did 2 different squares and even used a pen to draw (instead of the blade to cut). I was amazed! Needless to say, I think all the boys at school liked getting bugs!

Etching Glass

As I was pinning gift ideas on Pinterest, I came across several ideas for etching glass. I went to Michael's craft store and found some Armour Etch, bought some stencils and tried it on a piece of my Pyrex. I figured if I messed something up, it'd be my own first. I had so much fun doing it that I cut a stencil out of paper (with an Exacto knife!) and did one on a bigger dish! I made one for my mom and Mother-in-law for Christmas. Now I have a Silhouette Cameo and it will be so much easier to make stencils!

Hot/Cold Packs

One of my friends made me a heating pad with feed corn many years ago. I use it all the time! For aches and pains and even when I'm just cold, which in IL happens often. I have several close girlfriends and wanted to make them something they might use but also inexpensive for Christmas. I was able to use up a ton of my scraps of fabric to make these. I filled mine with rice and I think they turned out great! They can be heated or chilled for an ice pack as well!

Scrabble Gifts!

Found some old Scrabble games at a resale shop near me and decided to make a few things for gifts for Christmas. I asked my hubby to cut the trays down to fit each word. I ended up gluing them so they'd stay, with wood glue. I think they turned out pretty cute!
I am late in posting because I didn't want to spoil any surprises!
