Child's Messenger Bag

Again, another creation from my One Yard Wonders book.  I love that book!  My girls just started preschool a couple of weeks ago and I made them these darling little messenger bags.  I had to reduce the strap size by several inches but it turned out so cute and they love them!  I let them pick out the fabric and I added little button embellishments on the flap.

Nursing Cover

One of my friends, who recently had a baby, asked me to make her a nursing cover.  They are surprisingly easy and take little time to make.  I add a little terry cloth in the corners (cut a washcloth in half).  It's great for wiping the baby's mouth when they are nursing. I only took this picture for some reason so this is the only shot I have of it!

"Upcycled" Magazine Rack

When my Grandmother passed away a year ago, I asked if I could have this magazine rack.  Although, when I got it, it was dark brown.  I had great plans for it! I just sanded it a little and painted it lavender (my girls picked it out). I made a little fabric sling for the inside and ta-da! It now holds some of the books in their room.  I absolutely love the way it turned out!

Collegiate Trash Bag

My friend, Lauren, loves OSU! Go Cowboys! She had some leftover fabric from a previous project and asked me to make her a trash bag for her car.  I think it turned out awesome!!  I love my One Yard Wonders book!

Repurposed magazine rack

When my Meemaw passed away last year, I wanted this magazine rack from her house.  I wasn't sure at the time what I was going to do with it, but knew I could do something.  My mom and I always like to go to antique malls/craft stores and we always see things that have been redone similar to this.  I decided to use it in my girls' room for some of their books.  They books, however, just stacked up from the bottom and were hard to get to so I made a fabric sling for it.  I think it turned out nice!  It used to be a dark brown color and my girls picked out this lavender color.

Memory Game

I wanted to find something quiet and new for the girls to do on the airplane this summer for our trip to OK.  They  recently got a Strawberry Shortcake Memory Game as a gift and loved it!  I had some extra coordinating fat quarters so I made 2 sets out of that and a little matching drawstring back for each.  It was awesome on the airplane! Perfect size for the trays, quiet and they wanted to play it over and over.  All in all, a success!

Connections Raffle

I am contributing some handmade things for our Women's Connections Group at church.  The necklace roll and keychain I have done before, but the eyeglass case is new.  I think it turned out really cute.  I've been needing a couple of cases for the various reading glasses around my house, I still haven't made one for me yet.  This case is big enough to hold 2 reading glasses! I quilted the top to give it a little extra something.  I think it turned out cute.

Jewelry Roll with Zippered Pouches

Another creation from my One Yard Wonders book.  I have been so scared of zippers and I am started to conquer that fear! I love the way this jewelry roll turned out.  The ribbon across holds rings or hook earrings too.  Then there are 2 zippered pouches for whatever else! It was surprisingly easy to make and fun.  The longest part is cutting all the fabric and interfacing.

Chapstick & Hand Sanitizer Holders

I found the coolest Neoprene fabric and bought some with a coupon.  My friend had a chapstick holder made like this, a freebie from a bank.  I thought I'd give it a try.  I think they turned out pretty cute.  Another friend has a hand sanitizer holder similar to this one too.  What a fun combo! And they can be attached to anything!

Wet Bag

I sometimes have a pile of wash cloths and dish towels in the kitchen that I randomly forget to take upstairs to the laundry room, and why would I make a special trip up there just to do that? :)
So...enter the kitchen wet bag! Or, just a wet bag if you don't want it in the kitchen.  When I made it I hadn't attached a strap but wanted it to hang somewhere since I don't need anything else on the counter! So that was added later.  I sewed it on the bag and then used velcro on the front so I could hang it on a drawer handle.  I already have one person who would like one for swimsuits this summer! A great idea.  I also think they'd be handy in a diaper bag for wet or soiled clothes, no more using plastic bags! Go green!

Tag Blanket

I decided I needed another option for baby gifts so I started making tag blankets.  So easy and it's fun to use such a variety of ribbon and colors!  I have a lot of friends having babies right now and these are so soft and sweet.

Bed Buddy

Again, from my "One Yard Wonders", a Bed Buddy! My mom saw this in the book and said she'd like to have one so I made it for her birthday coming up.  I think it turned out pretty cute and it was fairly easy to make!

Business Card Holder

I found a tutorial for a business card holder and it was so easy!  It can be used for so much more than that. Gift cards, credit cards, etc.  I showed it to my family over the holidays and my aunt pulled out one from Vera Bradley-it was made just the same! The only difference was the name!

Burp Cloth Set

My cousin had her first baby and ordered some burp cloths for me.  She ended up ordering 12 so that she could give some as gifts herself! It was awesome and I loved making so many different ones!

Car Trash Bag

I got an awesome book for Christmas called "One Yard Wonders".  I love it! This is one thing from the book.  Pretty simple to make.  I actually added nylon for the lining so it'd be easier to clean.  I made this one for my mom.  It's the first so there are kinks that I will need to resolve as I make more.  This will go perfectly in her Escape and keep it so clean!

Girl Baby Gift

I got another order for a baby gift for a girl.  So many people have loved this fabric! I don't know what I'll do when JoAnn's discontinues it...
